Open Question: Are there any hotels in the hampton roads area that have monthly rates?

My wife and I are trying to go to college in Virginia Beach, VA, and we can't really afford to live in a full apartment right now. We can't afford any more than 600 dollars a month on a place to live, but we don't want to live in a bad area, either. We have heard of hotels doing monthly rates, almost like a no-lease monthly rent, but we don't know if there are any hotels down here that do that.
