Resolved Question: Moving to Virginia, i need help deciding on the city.. Hampton, Newport News, Virginia Beach, or Norfolk?

My hubby is going to work at the Newport News VA shipyard. We are in our early 20s and have a 1 year old. Currently we reside in Pittsburgh PA and I am extremely nervous to move out of state, let alone a state i have never visited before. The cities we are considering are Hampton, Newport News, Virginia Beach, and Norfolk. We are willing to pay up to 1000 for a 2 bedroom condo or apartment. Which one do you recommend as the safest and most liveable city out of those? How are the school systems? I don't want to raise my child in the hood so please include towns to stay away from.
